Pick-Me-Up

So lately I have been working on a certain weight goal. You know what? I don't even like to call it that. It's not a weight that I'm trying to achieve - it's an overall level of health and happiness that I'm trying to achieve.

REDO

So lately I've been working on certain health and happiness goals. Things have been moving along nicely. I did set a weight goal (though I disagree that any certain weight is completely indicative of one's overall health) and came up with a list of reasons why I am not in the shape I would like to be in. I also made a list of things that make me unhappy. (Let's face it--while I have way more than my fair share of things and people that make me happy, there are some things in my life I'd like to change or eliminate...) After I made the lists, I came up with another list: What I am going to do about it.

I am responsible for my health and happiness and I will be a big girl and own up to it.

I started exercising regularly and eating healthier. FlyLady helped me wrap my head around keeping a clean, orderly house at all times. I started getting more sleep. I stopped putting energy into things and people that/who aren't worth it. Things were going really well!!

And then....

The dreaded plateau....

I didn't know what to do and, though I was still doing better than when I started this journey, I was discouraged by the lack of continuing progress. [insert epic frown here]   Boooo!!

Around this time I was at the mall and I spotted one of those lovely kiosks...you know what I'm talking about. The ones with the sales people that always try to stop you and get you to try stuff. [Queue me pretending like I'm in the middle of an important phone call when I walk by so they leave me alone] This girl was giving out ice cold bottles of water with some kind of flavoring. Sweet--I was thirsty! Worst case scenario: I would snag a bottle of whatever-flavored water, tell her I'll try this stuff and get back to her.

So I walk up to the girl and she asks if I want a bottle of water. Sure! Why not?

"Great! What flavor would you like?"

"Uhh...I guess I'll try the pineapple strawberry. What is this stuff anyway?"

Turns out it was Green Tea Daily. What it IS is the equivalent of about 45 cups of regular green tea. For those who don't know much about green tea - it's packed with great anti-oxidants, gives you a natural energy boost, and if taken in large enough quantities (around 70 cups a day--yikes!) can really help with weight loss. The down sides of green tea: when brewed, it releases tannic acid, which is no bueno. Plus, I'm not a huge fan of the taste of green tea. Well la-dee-dah! This stuff tastes great! And since the green tea extract in it is not brewed, there's no tannic acid. AWESOME!

I still wasn't going to buy anything from this broad.

But WAIT! There's something in it (I forget what) that helps your body to release endorphins, which make you happy. It also helps you manage your appetite. Well dang.

Still wasn't going to buy anything.

I think this girl read my mind because she says to me "Tell you what--take this and drink it. Come back 20-30 minutes after you finish it and tell me how you feel and then we'll talk some more."

Whatever. I took it and drank it and I noticed that I wasn't tired anymore. I had lots of great energy, but I didn't feel jittery like one might feel after drink one of those "energy drinks". I felt happy. Just happy. In general. Wow. I was shocked. Dangit....that girl was right. So you know what I did? I bought a month supply (2/day, which comes out to the equivalent of 90 cups of green tea, in case you didn't want to do the math) of the stuff and it was one of the best purchases of my life!

I drink one first thing in the morning (who doesn't need a boost when they're working the 5am shift?) and another about 30 minutes before dinner. I feel FANTASTIC. I've lost more weight. I am happier throughout the day. I have more energy. I just feel better. All around. I want to exercise nowadays. Freaking awesome stuff, y'all. I highly recommend it.

If you're interested and want to find out more, click on the link in my side bar. If you want to get yourself a box or two, click here! It's $60 for a month supply. That's $2 a day. Most people spend more on soda, juice, coffee, slimfast, what-have-you and this stuff is WAY better. Trust me.

That's all. I just HAD to share with you lovely readers what has helped boost me up to such great heights these past few weeks!

P.S. I didn't get paid to write this post, but if you use the link provided above and again right here, I get a little bonus credit toward my next purchase! So if you decide to be happy and healthy with the help of Green Tea Daily with me, use my link! If/when you start, let me know you used my link and then give me yours so we can get bonuses for each other!

  1. I'm seriously tempted to buy some. Except I live in NY - would there be extra charges for shipping? Can I get it here do ya think??

I agree with your cat post! We had a cat for 1.5 years and finally found him a new home because I just couldn't take the litter box being in the house, to say nothing of the cat hair. I was somewhat more lenient with our little puggy though.

And your bubble bath date night post is hilarious!
