Excuses, excuses...

Hello lovelies. Sorry I haven't been posting very regularly. There's just so much going on with friends and family and extended family lately! Icky stuff and fun stuff - weddings, divorces, births, deaths, family pictures and reunions, vacation planning, moving (not me - family member), hubby's school/ROTC/Reserve stuff, daycare summer activities, church, baby blessings, ordinations, doctor appointments, concerts, plays, birthdays, holidays, WORK, etc. etc. ETC!!!!

It's just one thing after another, I swear. I'm doing my best to stay on top of things, but I'm teetering on a pretty precarious pile of appointments and obligations. Oh! OH!! I think I will take this opportunity to make this post not-so-pointless and whiny.

I have a pretty crazy busy life and it can be difficult to keep schedules coordinated. Between my work stuff, hubby's work/school/ROTC stuff, and a baby and all of the "stuff" that comes with that - our schedules can become pretty jumbled. Text messages and phone calls are lost or forgotten about and our time tends to get double-booked. I have a google calendar and I use iCal and they sync up with each other, which is great for me....but not so hot for hubby. Exporting and syncing multiple calendars that don't always update in real time got really frustrating!

.:Enter the answer to my prayers:.

Cozi. *this is where the angels sing Hallelujah!!!*

Cozi is a free online organizer that helps families manage crazy schedules, track shopping lists and to do lists, organize household chores, stay in communication and share memories--all in one place.
^Direct quote from the website. I concur.^

Mozy helps us get things done, get everyone on the same page, and have our lists when and where we need them. They have both Android and iPhone apps that give you quick and easy access to a family calendar, shopping lists, to do lists, and even a family journal to record fun moments and post pictures! (I'll admit, I don't really use the family journal that much....)

The calendar probably gets used the most in my family. My husband and I both downloaded the app, I created an account and we both signed in and BAM!--we're both using and syncing on the same calendar. It's color coded so each person's appointments are a different color and there's even a color for "all of us". You can set up reminders where cozi will email or text you to remind you about an appointment or a birthday.  No more calling the spouse to see if we're free to have dinner with the Joneses on Thursday--just check the calendar! No more excuses from a certain someone saying they didn't know I would be there at this time or didn't know we had a family outing planned on the day they wanted to go to blah blah blah.

I LOVE having shopping and to do lists in one easily accessible location. If hubby is at the store and I need him to grab a few things, I can text him and tell him to check the grocery list (he forgets things....). I keep the list updated throughout the day/week when I think of something we need to grab the next time we're out. We have now made it a habit to check the list and see if there's something on it that we can get while we're at the store or out and about. The honey-do to-do lists have obvious similar perks.

I am LOVING Cozi.

My Cozi calendar is pretty full, which is still pretty stressful. My time is in CONSUMED status.

I have some posts in the works, though. I swear you'll see them before the end of the century. Maybe even by the end of the month! Ha.

[This was not a paid endorsement. All of the above is simply the opinion of a raving mad lunatic woman who likes to stay organized and appear sane]

  1. That's really cool that you found an app to keep you guys organized! I feel like I'm go go go a lot lately too! :) But I don't have a family (not that kind anyway) to worry about.
