I guess I never talked about the whole McKay situation. Long story short: I came back to Utah. I felt like there were a lot of things left unsaid between us, so we got together and talked a few times. We've been kind of going on dates here and there since then. We hang out out and stuff. We get along really well. He, of course, knows about Gabriel and he knows that I'm moving to Hawaii. So we are hanging out and spending time together until I leave. I know--a lot of people think it's a little odd, but whatever.
Anyway, this weekend has been so much fun!! McKay came over to my house Friday night and told me to change into some nice(r) clothes because he had a surprise for me. Okay....so I did. Guess where he took me? The Chef's Table! For those of you who don't know what that is, it's a really super nice restaurant in South Orem/North Provo (the city boundary is a little iffy in that area...lol). He reserved a table with a view in the private dining room for us. It was so nice! When I say that, I mean it. I was nervous that I didn't remember all of my etiquette and "rules" and stuff...yeesh! But seriously--the food was SO good! And the service was outstanding.
After that, we went to the movies and saw "Julie & Julia", which was pretty cute. And funny! It was a great night!
Then yesterday he called me and said "I don't know why, but I've been thinking about this and can't get it off my mind--I wanna go to the zoo. Do you wanna go to the zoo today?" SURE!! So he picked me up and we went to Hogle Zoo! It was AWESOME for a lot of reasons: 1) the weather was perfect--it was sunny out, but there was a nice chilly breeze, so we didn't die from heat exhaustion! 2) someone pulled out of a REALLY great parking spot when we got there, so we got to park really close and didn't have to hike it to the entrance, and 3) there were all kinds of new baby animal announcements!! We walked around and did the "zoo thing" - we saw a nine day old baby giraffe, a three day old baby snow leopard, and a whole swarm of baby meerkats!! So cute! Plus we had gotten there in time to see the last wildlife show of the day! It was a bird show, but seriously one of the coolest ones I've seen. I took pictures of a few things but they didn't turn out well because they were on my cell phone....bummer.
After the zoo, we went and got some pizza at The Pie over by U of U campus. That place is famous for a reason! Oh my gosh it was so good...!
So anyway, it has been a fun weekend! And in about two hours we're gonna walk over to the stadium (I live ridiculously close) and watch an Owlz game! Yay!!
