One little, two little, three little competitions...

Last weekend's Debate tournament went okay, I guess. I did better than I thought I would. I was tired the whole time, though. Ugh. our record was 1-3. The round we weren't sure about, we won. And the round we were SURE we won, we lost. How retarded. I want to see the ballots and find out how we lost that round. Part of it was probably because we had a lay judge and he didn't know what he was doing. Whatever...

Well, yesterday was the Region 6 One Act competition (drama). That's the Still Life With Iris show I've mentioned. Anyway, we competed and did really well. We did so well, in fact, that we have been invited to represent our region at the state competition! Woot! Yesterday was my personal best performance of Still Life, for sure. There are still things that I need to work on though. I think it was the best performance we've had so far. There were a few things that went wrong (I didn't have flowers, so I was no longer a flower-painter in Nocturno-we had to come up with something else for me to do last minute, we couldn't find the button! The show is centered around the dang button!, the wheel fell off Marks cart, the sun got tangled up and didn't work the way it should have, and we didn't have the right music for different parts of the show), but we played it off well which makes it all the better. To have had all of those problems and still make it to state is absolutely amazing. I'm so excited!

So there's two down...now I focus on the pageant and Open to Interpretation (mine and Sean's IE). I have IE rehearsals every day after school until next Tuesday when we compete. Today I have my last mock interview in front of the board. Tomorrow I have a tech run through of my talent and a few other elements. Friday is dress rehearsal--six to midnight!! Aaaahhhh!!! And Saturday is the pageant. I have all of my wardrobe, I have my music cut for my talent, I have most, if not all, of my "accessories", and I'm trying to eat healthy foods and exercise regularly. The only prep things I have left to do are: tanning, manicure, pedicure, and polishing the walk and "stage pose". I think I'll do okay. I hope I do awesome! My mom and sister and real dad are all flying in to see me!! Yay! They'll be here tomorrow!

Okay, breathe......
